On Saturday my husband and I headed out to Home Depot with some ideas to create a herb garden. Since we've been cooking Paleo we have noticed how quickly we go through herbs and spices. It just seemed appropriate to grow our own. We have included sweet basil, sage, sweet mint, parsley, cilantro, lavender, and rosemary. We are excited to see them grow and be able to use them in our everyday cooking. We also plan to dry some for use over the winter months. Roland enjoyed helping while playing in the dirt.
We also decided to try a couple citronella plants. In the research I have done online some places say
yes this keeps mosquitoes away but
other places disagree. The employee at Home Depot told us to brush our hands across the plants when we sit next to them to cause the scent to come out. That definitely works!!! We will see if it really does keep the mosquitoes away!
